PREMIUM NAPPA LEATHER

For the finest upholstery ever used in a Mazda, we chose a material that this car and its drivers deserve: Nappa leather. Supple in feel and auburn-hued, it's evocative of bespoke horse saddles-a subtle nod to Mazda's Jinba Ittai "horse and rider as one" driving philosophy.

Mazda’s KODO: “Soul of Motion” design philosophy conveys a sense of strength, energy and motion. In the Mazda CX-9, it’s most clearly articulated in the elongated hood and tapered roofline, giving it a sleek, athletic form. The overall effect is a combination of composed power and fluid movement, creating a uniquely striking SUV.

GENUINE SANTOS ROSEWOOD

A design is only as special as the materials that make it: so we chose genuine Santos Rosewood. Often used for fine musical instruments, this wood is a highly valued material all around the world. Sculpted to the perfect shape, the shadowy brown color and matte finish make it pleasing to the touch while revealing the wood's depth of grain-a choice that's both inspired and inspiring.

DRIVER FOCUSED

While sophistication is felt throughout the cabin, we gave special attention to the most important seat: the driver’s.
By positioning the shifter and console slightly higher than in the previous-generation Mazda CX-9, the driver is enveloped in comfort while experiencing a greater sense of connection and control.¹³

Inspired by Japan's famous handmade cutlery, a sleek, sweeping piece of aluminum sculpts the dash, emphasizing width, sophistication and true Japanese craftsmanship. Brushed to a satin-like smoothness, it's as pleasing to the touch as it is to the eye.

TIMELY TORQUE

While typical engines generate most of their power in the upper RPM range, the Mazda CX-9 is carefully engineered to give you plenty of torque at lower RPMs, where you spend the majority of your drive time. You can tap into 310 lb-ft of torque at 2,000 RPM, substantially more than the Infiniti QX60 and Acura MDX.

Standard Blind Spot Monitoring helps detect objects in your blind spots and alerts you with a chime and warning light in the side mirror. It also detects and warns you of fast-approaching vehicles that may enter a blind spot

LANE-KEEP ASSIST

Available Lane-keep Assist adds to the warnings of the Lane Departure Warning System. When it senses a potential unintentional lane departure at speeds of 37 MPH or higher, it will perform minor steering corrections to help guide your vehicle back to the center of the lane.

MAZDA RADAR CRUISE CONTROL

Available Mazda Radar Cruise Control with Stop & Go lets you maintain a set speed and minimum following distance from the traffic ahead. If the vehicle you're following reduces speed, even down to a stop, your vehicle is able to slow or stop as needed. Anything to make your commute a little easier.

REAR CROSS TRAFFIC ALERT

We've got your back. Literally. When backing up, standard Rear Cross Traffic Alert helps detect a vehicle approaching from the side and promptly alerts the driver with an audible warning, as well as a visual warning in either side mirror and the display screen. A little help can make a big difference.

ADAPTIVE FRONT-LIGHTING SYSTEM

This available system is designed to help you see around corners at night. As you turn into a corner, the headlights pivot up to 15 degrees in the direction of your turn, improving visibility and allowing you to spot potential hazards ahead.

SMART BRAKE SUPPORT
WITH COLLISION WARNING

When traveling at speeds above 10 MPH, available Smart Brake Support with Collision Warning helps detect vehicles ahead and warns you when braking is immediately necessary. If an impact is predicted, the system will adjust the brake pads for faster and firmer braking and apply the brakes if the driver cannot. And who couldn't use a little assist now and then?

LANE DEPARTURE WARNING SYSTEM

Technology that keeps you on track. When traveling at speeds of 37 MPH or higher, available Lane Departure Warning System gives you audible and visual warnings when it detects that you're about to unintentionally depart from your lane. It's as if you have another set of eyes.And that's always a good thing.

HIGH BEAM CONTROL 

Available High Beam Control helps the driver see better at night by maximizing opportunities to use the high beams. The system automatically switches to low beams when it detects oncoming traffic and/or a vehicle ahead.

ADVANCED SMART CITY BRAKE SUPPORT

When the vehicle is traveling at speeds typical during city driving, including parking-lot speeds, this available system helps detect vehicles and pedestrians ahead. If an impact is predicted, this system is able to warn the driver, adjust the brake pads for faster and firmer braking, and apply the brakes if the driver cannot.

TRAFFIC SIGN RECOGNITION

Using strategically placed cameras, the available Traffic Sign Recognition System can actually read certain road signs and display the information in the Active Driving Display, so you can stay aware and informed without taking your eyes off the road.

By pushing the limits of internal combustion, the SKYACTIV®-G 2.0L and 2.5L gasoline engines deliver much greater fuel efficiency. With higher compression ratios than conventional engines.
